CLEAR LAKE – Only the finest people stormed our United States Capital building, and one of those fine people, Daryl E. Johnson of St. Ansgar, is arrested for secretly recording folks tanning their bodies in Clear Lake.

Daryl Eugene Johnson is a 52-year-old man from St. Ansgar, Iowa. He is also a convicted felon for traveling to Washington D.C. to follow Donald Trump’s orders and violently enter the building to disrupt the transfer of power after the 2020 election. He was arrested, along with his son, after tipsters turned them in.

Now, to everyone’s surprise, Daryl Johnson is allegedly some kind of peeping tom. Clear Lake police lodged a complaint against Johnson on January 27, 2023, for violation of Iowa code 709.21(1), which states, “a person who knowingly views, photographs, or films another person, for the purpose of arousing or gratifying the sexual desire of any person” would be guilty of this crime.

Clear Lake police said today that on January 27, 2023, Daryl Eugene Johnson was arrested for invasion of privacy and interference with official acts. They say the incident took place in a business in the 500 block of US HWY 18 East in Clear Lake. The charges stem from an ongoing investigation regarding a report of Johnson secretly recording patrons of a tanning business. Investigators determined a digital recording device was placed by Johnson to intentionally record customers without their knowledge or consent.

Johnson was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail following his arrest. Current Charges:

– Invasion of Privacy – Nudity, an aggravated misdemeanor

– Interference with Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor

Police say the investigation remains open at this time. Johnson posted bond on January 30. He faces an initial appearance in court on February 15, 2023 at 03:00 PM.
