‘Potty Party’ inaugurates public restroom

NAPERVILLE, Ill., May 26 (UPI) — Parks officials in an Illinois city held a “potty party” to celebrate the opening of a restroom facility in a downtown park.

Naperville City and Park District officials held the “potty party” Thursday at the new Central Park public restroom facility, which is a permanent structure to replace the portable toilets often used at the park, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

“It’s been a project that is actually very popular with the citizenry and something they’ve been looking for for a long time, an amenity for a highly used park that has kind of been missing,” said Linda LaCloche, Naperville’s communications manager.

The restroom facility was constructed after council members voted in March to approve a $247,850 contract for construction.

The restrooms will be open daily from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., officials said.
