MASON CITY – The public is being asked to help catch a vandal.
On Sunday, November 25th at about 5:50 AM, a guest at the Holiday Inn Express in Mason City, located at 3041 4th Street Southwest, looked out his window facing the parking lot. He witnessed a man outside trying to pry bicycles off the back of a couple of vehicles. The guest rushed outside and got in his vehicle. When he drove around the parking lot, he encountered a man breaking into a white SUV. (This guest is in the black vehicle shown in the video, below). The identity of the man in the red hoodie in the video is being sought.
What is not shown in the video (due to positioning of this particular camera) is the man in the red hoodie goes in front of the white SUV and busts out the windshield, doing over $1200.00 in damage. He retrieved the object he used to bust out the windows from another nearby vehicle.
The hotel has multiple cameras posted all around the hotel, inside and out.

The police should be able to enhance the video and get the plate of the black vehicle. And the perp appears to be white.
Excellent point. If the police track down the man in the black Honda Pilot what should they do? Arrest him for harrasment? How dare him chase a burglar off right.
The man in the video looks like one of the workers next store at Robber Tuesadays.
My take after viewing the video was that the driver of the black vehicle was in cahoots with the perp. My bad if I got that wrong.

Your right Ventura they should let us run them scum down, may be give us tax breaks if we get them that has warrants and criminals record.
Too bad the driver of the van did not just keep going, run that thief over. If that would of been me driving my Dodge pickup, I would of put a new black top where the grass is.
