MASON CITY – According to a police report, a “narcotics pipe” was found outside a local daycare on Mason City’s north side.
The report indicates that a phone call to the Mason City Police Department was made from the daycare on Monday at about 12:20 PM. An officer was then dispatched to North Iowa Community Action Daycare, 300 15th Street NE. An employee found a “narcotics pipe” outside the business and handed it over to law enforcement.
A call to North Iowa Community Action Daycare Wednesday morning, answered by Head Start Teacher Jennifer Keeran, was abruptly ended when she was told NorthIowaToday.com was calling.
DAMN NORTH END!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damned kids and their crack pipes.
I’d love to comment, but because I refuse to pay to know what’s going on in my town, I cannot. And no I don’t get the Globe, I watch KIMT for free & the Globe online for FREE. 😉
Well, Matt, I doubt she knew anything about the pipe anyway. Anyone could have dropped it there. It has to be pretty upsetting to them. It’s just one more example of how badly this town has decayed. I urge everyone to read the book Methland: The Death and Life of an American Small Town by Nick Reding (May 25, 2010) about Oelwein, Iowa, and how that town finally turned itself around. It’s available on Amazon.com.
