Does GOP think racism is “over”?

In an attempt to honor civil rights activist Rosa Parks, the Republican National Committee tweeted Sunday a commemoration of her 1955 arrest, only to find itself with a lot of explaining to do.

Some say that the GOP meant that racism is over in America, while others say the political party only meant that she contributed in a positive way.  What do you think?

Later that day, the GOP tried to explain:

Is the GOP out of touch or just mis-understood?

As long as we have racial quotas, look at elections as to how a specific racial groups voted, have the Black Congressional Caucus, have the media focus more on the race of the person then the crime, and care more about political correctness then what is being said or done. We are going to have racism. The color of the person skin or his racial group should only be mentioned on a wanted poster. Any other mention in the media or by politicians is adding to the racism problem.

@Tim-My personal opinion is as long as we continue to label people as Black, White, Asian, Hispanic and so on we will have racism. We create it by making people different by the names we assign to them.

I agree with Tim. Getting rid of the term, African American, would be a good start. I never hear/see/read German American, Jewish American, etc. on any application for anything. It’s Okay to be proud of your heritage, but do you have to flaunt it, no other nationality does like the African Americans.

I hear more racist comments about Hispanics than anything else. Don’t forget Arabs and, Asians… they get the same treatment.

@Fox News Alert

Until the black community acknowledges their part in racism, we can not move forward to better ourselves.

I am only confronting the obvious.

To quote Rosa Parks,

“YOU MUST NEVER BE FEARFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHEN IT IS RIGHT.”

Watchdog

Racism is now the demon of the black community. African Americans for the most part hate white people. Not all but most, just my opinion.

The White Community has embraced their black neighbors only to find that they would rather cheer a murderer like OJ Simpson and vote in unison for brother Obama. Pretty humble!

Yes racism is alive in America but now it’s most centered in the black community. With race hustlers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson encouraging the black community to hate whitey (a contemptuous term used by black people to refer to a white person or to white people collectively), I don’t see any improvement on the horizon.

Sorry.

Get your head out of Fox news’s arse you racist old pin head. Your Judging all blacks on two black guys now? Listen your yourself. Your’e blind to your own racism. Hey kettle , I’m black and think like Steve King.

Iowa should be ashamed.

Don’t watch Fox News. My opinion and perspective is only from interacting with the black community.

As for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they are all over the Media. Their behaviour sticks out like a sore thumb!

@Watchdog_I agree with your comments. Sharpton and Jackson are just race baiters who use race to line their pockets. They never come out unless it is a high profile race issue and then they pounce. I really think the American people have had enough of their tricks. You are also correct about blacks being the worst racist. I have heard them and what they say about other people makes that perfectly clear. It isn’t just whites they are against. They are against Asians and Hispanics as well. There is also a lot of racism in the Hispanics too. I have seen that personally. Not all mind you, but certainly some.

Now, after saying that I will tell you that racism is still alive and well in the white race too. I have seen a lot of examples of that in my life. It is much more hidden now than it used to be as the KKK is almost dead. But it is still here.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the biggest racists in this country.

How true…

For the same reason I can call myself a guido, but if you do it I would have to hurt you.

It should read now instead of the word not.
