According to a Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s incident report there was an altercation around 10:30 am Saturday morning between two inmates in the county jail.
As a result 29-year-old Justin Lee Moor has been charged with one simple misdemeanor count of assault. Moor has also been moved away from other inmate to a special status cell.
Justin Moor has been held in jail since July 11th after being arrested on a warrant for one class C felony count of failing to comply with sex offender registration. The allegation is considered a class C felony under Iowa code 692A.111 due to his victim’s age listed on the sex offender registry as 0-13 years of age.
A trial for the felony sex offender registration charge has been set for October 9th at 1:30 pm. Moor could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charge.
