Los Angeles County prosecutors are reviewing an altercation between pop star Justin Bieber and a photographer at a Calabasas shopping mall to determine whether criminal charges should be filed, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Detectives have been investigating claims by the photographer that Bieber struck him after he snapped photographs of the singer and girlfriend Selena Gomez at the Commons at Calabasas Shopping Center in May.
The photographer complained of pain and was taken by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a hospital, where he was treated and released, officials said.
The L.A. County district attorney’s office received the case Tuesday, and it’s unclear how long it will take to make a decision about charges. It’s also unclear what charge Beiber could face.
Beiber has not commented on the incident.
