Jerry Dean Wolfe, the son of James and Dorothea (Beenen) Wolfe, was born on January 11, 1946 in Hampton Iowa. He was raised and educated in West Des Moines, graduating with the Valley High School “Class of 1964”. After high school he attended barber school before joining the United States Navy Reserves.
Jerry was united in marriage to Rae Harvey on February 4th 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa. Together they had one child, Julie.
Jerry was a barber shop owner, owned and operated Barden’s Locker and was the Assistant Meat Manager at Super Value. In 1979 he was certified as an advanced EMT and worked for Clarion and Eagle Grove. He worked as a Sheriff’s Reserve for Wright County from 1977 to 1983 and became an officer for the Eagle Grove Police Department from 1983 to the mid 90’s. After leaving the police department he drove a semi-truck for Decker Trucking for 19 years, and after retirement he drove the Rides Transit Bus for Wright County.
Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Clarion Jay-Cee and a member of the Clarion Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing with his family, taking motorcycle trips with his wife and was a gun enthusiast. He had a license to sell guns and had his own business reloading shells/bullets for local police agencies. He enjoyed his annual trip to Minnesota bear hunting and his fall deer hunting in Correctionville.
Jerry passed away on Monday, December 1st, in Storm Lake at the age of 79 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephews: Michael “Bulldog” Blair and James Bradley Wolfe; brother-in-law, Gary Blair.
Survivors include his wife, Rae Wolfe; daughter, Julie Fast (Lyle); grandchildren: Samantha Kopfmann (Travis), Spenser Fast (Saige) and Sheridan Fast; great grandchildren: Ryland, Avery, Paisley, Axle, Wrenley and Valerie; brother, James B. Wolfe, Jr (Jana); and nieces and nephews.
