Fort Dodge police searching for clues after man stabbed multiple times

FORT DODGE – A man in Fort Dodge suffered multiple stab wounds this morning in Fort Dodge, and police are searching for clues.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, at approximately 6:00 AM, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of a male with multiple stab wounds at 414 S 16th Street in Fort Dodge. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to the scene and located a responsive male with multiple stab wounds to his waistline. The male was treated on scene by medics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department and transported to Unity Point‐Trinity Regional Hospital by ambulance. The injuries to the male are non‐life‐threatening.

Upon further investigation, the officers on scene located witnesses and collected physical evidence. Police later said it appears as though the assault did not occur at 414 S 16th Street. The exact location of the assault is unknown.

At this point in time, it is not believed that this incident is related to the two recent shooting investigations in any way. Investigators and patrol officers are continuing to gather information at this point and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Dodge Fire Department, and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
