INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024 at approximately 12:10 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Michael Lyle Halligan, 41, of Brandon. Halligan was charged with Public Intoxication (simple misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a disturbance in the 200 blk East Street in Brandon.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024 at approximately 11:30 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Teresa Marie Flom, 48, of West Union. Flom was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and taken inti custody from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, October 14, 2024 at approximately 5:40 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Colleen Beth Covemaker. 45, of Davenport. Covemaker was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of third degree Theft (aggravated misdemeanor) and taken into custody from the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, October 14, 2024 at approximately 5:55 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 17-year-old male from Lisbon, charging him with first degree Theft (class C felony). The juvenile was booked and released to parents/guardians, and will be referred to Juvenile Court Services. This arrest stems from an incident that occurred in the 3100 blk Black Hawk-Buchanan Avenue on 09/02/2024.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at approximately 1:30 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Nathan Alan McDowell, 29, of Rowley. McDowell was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and taken into custody from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at approximately 7:55 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mckynsie Shaee Worm, 22, of Quasqueton. Worm was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at approximately 10:50 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested April Opal Marie Zeets, 46, and Jefffrey Lee Millard, 48, both of Independence. Zeets and Millard were each arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of fifth degree Theft (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made in the 800 blk First Street West in Independence.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024 at approximately 12:00 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Melissa Kay Brown, 47, and Richard Lee Rowland, Jr., 52, both of Winthrop. Brown and Rowland were each arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of fifth degree Theft (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made in the 2400 blk Buffalo Creek Blvd.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024 at approximately 12:00 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Crystal Marie Howard, 40, of Hazleton and Cory Lynn Kotenbrink, 45, of Hampton. Howard and Kotenbrink were each charged with Violation of Protection Order (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made in the 300 blk W Hayes Street in Hazleton.
On Thursday, October 17, 2024 at approximately 1:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Joshua David Overly, 39, of West Union. Overly was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024 at approximately 12:20 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Khaleel Jihad Muhammad, 24, of Waterloo. Muhammad was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and taken into custody from the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.
