AMES – Iowa State head football coach Matt Campbell, who earlier this season became the Cyclones’ winningest coach, has been named to the 2024 Dodd Trophy midseason watch list.
Under the direction of Campbell, in his ninth season as head coach at the school, ISU has risen to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press Top 25. The Cyclones are 6-0 overall, the best start by the program since 1938. They are bowl eligible for the seventh time in nine seasons and have started 3-0 in Big 12 play for the second time under Campbell and just third time overall.
Campbell owns 59 career victories at Iowa State, surpassing Dan McCarney’s total of 56 wins earlier this season.
Campbell and the Cyclones were in action Saturday when they defeated UCF at Jack Trice Stadium, 38-35, to move to 7-0 on the season.
