Leland Jay Uhlenhopp, 59, of Clarion, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Clarion Wellness & Rehabilitation Center. A private graveside service will be held at Wayside Cemetery in Chapin. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Lee and his family.
Lee was born December 13, 1964, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, son of Lawrence and Lois (Raske) Uhlenhopp. He graduated from Grundy Center High School.
On October 9, 1992, Lee was united in marriage to Marilyn Lea Bailey in Nashua. He worked at Manatt’s Inc. in Grundy Center as a cement truck driver. Lee enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He also enjoyed Nascar, Demo Derby and snowmobiling.
Lee is survived by his wife Marilyn Uhlenhopp of Clarion; stepsons Jerret (Jan) Thompson of Lake Crystal, Minnesota and Rob Thompson of Belmond; step-grandchildren Johanna, Jaydon, Jack and Gunner; step-great-grandchildren Westin and Mavrick; sister Lisa (Garry) Hess of Cedar Falls; mother-in-law Delores Bailey; sister-in-law Marlene (Jerry) Harms; brother-in-law Jim Bailey; along with many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Bob Bailey.
