Debra L. Waters, 72, of Mason City, died Monday, June 24, 2024 at Good Shepherd Health Center.
Graveside Services will be held 10:30 am, Friday, June 28, 2024 at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Nathan Gann of Rhythm Church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to donate to the Debra Waters memorial fund.
Debra was born on July 27, 1951 in Mason City, the daughter of Dean I. and Darlene J. (Foss) Clausen. She graduated from Mason City High School and then Hamilton Business College. She began her work as an operator for Northwestern Bell, She then was employed as a Paralegal in Iowa City. She moved back to Mason City and worked as a secretary at Kabrick Distributing until her retirement.
She was united in marriage to Mike Waters and from that union they had one daughter. Although their marriage didn’t last, their active roles as parents never ceased.

Debra was a voracious reader and enjoyed, mysteries, romance, suspense, especially Danielle Steel, and western novels. She loved riding Harleys with her long time friend and love of her life Kurt. Deb loved to play in pool leagues and even took the championship one year!
Surviving her are her daughter Lisa Bailey, Mason City, five grandchildren, Samantha and her husband Colby, Ricky, Emily, Madison, and Dylan, three Great Grandchildren Courtney, Mackenzie, and Carter and one brother Greg (Linda) Clausen, as well as nieces Julie, Susan and Holly and nephew Eric.
Preceding her in death is her son Travis Dean Waters, her oldest brother, Rick Clausen, and her parents.
