Harlan Leroy Leake, 85, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

A Funeral Service will be held on 10:00 am Friday, March 29, 2024 at First Christian Church, 318 North Adams, Mason City, Iowa, with Pastor Paul Boostrom officiating. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Harlan, born on April 8, 1938, to James and Helen (Meader) Leake of Mason City, Iowa, graduated from Mason City High School in 1956 before attending Hamilton Business School.
On September 7, 1969, he married Maureen Marlow, with whom he had three children.

It is his unwavering love for his wife, Maureen, that was evident in every aspect of his life. It was a love that surpassed all obstacles and endured through the years. Their love story was one for the ages, of two souls who found each other and never let go, even after her passing nine years ago. The teachings and love that Harlan bestowed upon his children is a testament to his character and will never be forgotten. Harlan’s legacy will forever be remembered as a shining example of what it means to live a life filled with love and dedication to those who matter most.

Harlan dedicated over 36 years of his life as an accountant at Oliver Farm, also known as White Farm, and later spent 14 years at Stellar before retiring. A history enthusiast, Harlan possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject. He remained an active member of the First Christian Church for 76 years, a commitment that began at the tender age of ten.

Those left to cherish memories of Harlan are his children, Cecil (Angie) Leake, James (Sandra) Leake both of Mason City; and Jennifer (Richard) Harpin of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Julia Fahlbeck and Evelyn Leake; as well as his church family and friends.

Harlan is preceded in death by his wife, Maureen; infant daughter, Jean; grandson, Christian Fahlbeck; his parents, James and Helen Leake, and a brother, Jack Leake.
