Minnesota man fires shots in Fort Dodge neighborhood, flees, then returns and is arrested

FORT DODGE – A Minnesota man fired shots in a Fort Dodge neighborhood, fled the scene, then returned then next day and was arrested.

On Tuesday, September 20th at approximately 10:06 P.M. the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of a male threatening to shoot up a residence in the 1000 Block Williams Drive. During this same call the caller indicated that shots had been fired.

Officers arrived on scene quickly and they located the suspect leaving the area in a vehicle that matched the description given to officers. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect refused to stop his vehicle and officers pursued. After a brief pursuit the suspect abandoned his vehicle in the 10 Block of S 1st St and fled on foot. Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

On Wednesday, September 21st at approximately 1:01 A.M. the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call that the suspect had returned to the 1000 Block Williams Drive. Officers again responded to the scene where they encountered the suspect,
and he was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as 41‐year‐old Prior Lake, Minnesota resident, Archester Rodgers. Rodgers was charged with the following:

* Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled or Revoked (Simple Misdemeanor)
* Possession of a Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor)
* Eluding (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
* Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor)
* Possession of Firearm or Offensive Weapon by a Felon (D Felony)
* Reckless Use of a Firearm (Simple Misdemeanor)

At this time the Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to follow up on this incident. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers. There were no
injuries reported in this incident. The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
