MASON CITY – A Nora Springs woman was injured Friday in a two-car collision on the city’s southeast side.
Around 2:35 pm, Friday afternoon, Emily Schumaker, age 18, of Nora Springs was driving a Chevy Impala southbound on Illinois Ave. when her vehicle was allegedly struck by a Ford Escape being driven westbound on 6th Street SE by Kyong Smith of Mason City. Mr. Smith’s vehicle collided with the left rear of Schumaker’s car.
Mr. Smith had a stop sign at the intersection where the collision occurred. He was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
Ms. Schumaker was transported to Mercy for evaluation by ambulance. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Mason City Police officers were directing traffic on Illinois until the accident was cleared.
