
A funeral Mass for Ethel (Nemmers) Ingalls of Bancroft, will be held Tuesday, May 31st at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Bancroft. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM Tuesday at Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft with a rosary beginning at 9:30 AM.
Ethel Marie (Nemmers) Ingalls was born December 17, 1936, in St. Benedict, daughter of Roman and Eunice (Studer) Ricke. Ethel graduated from St. John’s Catholic School in 1954. She was married to Darrell E. Nemmers on September 3, 1960, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft. She worked throughout the years in the office of Welp’s Hatchery, Stylecraft, Bancroft Implement, for her brother Jim at J & R Feed and Farm Supply and retired in 1998 from McNertney Law Office.
In May of 1996, Darrell preceded Ethel in death. Ethel was married to Charles Ingalls Sr., on March 24, 2000. Ethel loved spending time with her family. She had a very deep faith, prayed the rosary daily, and loved her church, St. John’s in Bancroft being active in the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. Ethel enjoyed dining out, watching winning St. John baseball, playing the penny slots at the casino, and traveling, especially wintering in Arizona and her trip to Europe and Israel.
Ethel M. Ingalls died Monday, May 23, 2022, at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation at the age of 85. She moved to Fort Dodge in 2016 to be near her son and his family.
She is survived by her son Jeff (Darci) Nemmers of Fort Dodge; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Jeff (Charity) Nemmers Jr. of Sheldon and their children Desmond, Xavier and Xander, Trey (Kaylin) Thiele of Des Moines and their son Titus, Madeleine Nemmers of Le Mars, and John Nemmers of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Leonelli of Seal Beach, CA; a brother, Don Ricke of Bancroft; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ricke of Bancroft, and DeEtta Pearce of Mason City; 9 Ingalls stepchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Darrell on May 4, 1996; her husband Charles on January 17, 2016; four sons in infancy; a 3-month-old grandchild, Catherine Grace Nemmers; a sister, Mary Olberding; brother Jim Ricke, and brother-in laws, Leo Leonelli, Raymond Olberding, and Vernon (Bud) Pearce.
