RURAL WRIGHT COUNTY – A man was killed Sunday near Eagle Grove after his car went airborne and struck a tree.
The accident took place on Sunday, March 8 at about 7:07 AM about 5 miles east of Eagle Grove on 270th Street.
Jose Gabriel Velasco Cruz, age 23 of no listed hometown, was driving his 2009 Dodge Charger westbound on 270th Street when he failed to negotiate a curve. The Charger vaulted from the roadway and struck a tree, killing Cruz.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Wright County Sheriff.
