Identifying the different places in Iowa that you should explore

There are many places across America that appeal to people when it comes to entertainment and whilst Iowa may not stand out in comparison to other states across the country, there’s still a lot to do.

In fact, the tourism industry helps the area considerably, with the latest figures showing that it generates 69,000 jobs and around $8.5 billion in revenue. And those are stats that appear to be increasing year by year.

Therefore, there are obviously places to go that appeal to many and here we will look at a few different ways you can stay entertained across Iowa.

One way to stay entertained would be to visit Prairie Meadows race track which offers a lot more than some of the biggest races in the state. Of course, that will be an attraction and the chance to see the live action is going to appeal and it can make for a great day out, whether you are on your own or in a big group.

Yet, the great thing about this venue is that it’s a complete entertainment complex, with a dining area and also a casino. Nowadays, you don’t have to go in unprepared either: many people gamble on their phones and so know how the whole thing works ahead of time, having already used Space Casino horse racing betting and other such sites. If you do your research into how to place bets on horse racing, you can really spice up your visit. And with a hotel and events ranging from gaming to live music, this is the perfect place for a weekend break.

Roller City

Another cool thing to do in the area is Roller City, which can be ideal for a family day out or a fun night with friends. Putting some skates on can still be a really great experience and whilst you may make yourself look quite silly in the process – we’ve all fallen over once or twice – it still offers a good time with plenty of laughs for all involved. Even if you are a novice, it can be a new thing to learn and it may develop into a new hobby for you moving forward.

Music Man Square

Finally, Music Man Square is another great place for people to visit in Iowa. Meredith Willson was a well-known musical figure who was born and raised in Iowa and this pays tribute to him, with the place named after his hit Broadway musical.

Music Man Square continues his legacy and it provides you with so much to do. You can take a look at a 1912 streetscape, go into the museum that is based on Willson and even look at his boyhood home, offering an insight into what it was like to grow up in Iowa in the early 1900s.  As well as that, there can be live music and shows too, with plenty going on throughout the year.

Ultimately, there’s a lot of different ways to enjoy yourself in Iowa, whether you want to have a relaxed time with the family or a more cultural experience. Of course, there’s much to experience in North Iowa specifically but there is a lot more across the state that you may not have realized and venturing out could ensure you create some more memories.
