Names released in fatal fire that claimed lives of five Iowans

ARLINGTON, IOWA – It was confirmed Thursday that five persons died in a fire last Friday, January 24th, near Arlington, Iowa.

Today, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received official word from the county and state medical examiner’s office. The victims are as follows: Amanda Lynn Smith- Miller, age 27; Delacisey Seales, age 4; Isabella Miller, age 1, all of Oelwein; Gil Raymond Stachar, age 84 of Arlington, and James Dean McCain, age 30 of Arlington.

On January 24, 2014, at 3:35 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a House Fire at 5094 F Avenue, approximately 4 miles SW of Arlington. Arlington, Aurora & Stanley fire department’s were dispatched to the scene. The House was found to be fully engulfed by emergency responders.
