Northern Iowa man arrested for alleged murder of woman

LAKOTA, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man has been arrested for the alleged murder of a woman.

On Saturday, March 3 at approximately 12:47 AM, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call from 517 Smith Street in Lakota, asking for medical assistance.

The reporting party also stated that a domestic assault with weapons occurred at the residence of 202 2nd Street in Lakota. Kossuth County Deputies as well as ambulance services form Lakota, Swea City and Algona responded. Deputies found a male with lacerations to his left arm at 517 Smith Street and a deceased female at 202 2nd Street.

At that time the Iowa division of Criminal investigations was contacted to assist with the investigation.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Chad David Dietrick, age 45 of Lakota for first-degree murder, a Class A Felony. The victim was identified as Krista Lynn Hesebeck, 38 of Lakota.

Dietrick is being held at the Kossuth County Jail awaiting his initial appearance. No further information will be released at this time. The cause of death will be determined by the autopsy results.

Other assisting agencies include the Algona Police Department, Forest City Police Department and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
