NEW HAMPTON – Police in New Hampton investigated a possible threat to schools in that community.
On Monday, February 26, 2024, police in New Hampton reported that they were involved in an investigation into a possible school threat. They reported that they had been contacted Sunday night by the the New Hampton Community School District.
“This possible threat was vague in nature but taken very seriously due to the safety of our children,” Chief of Police Tim Pederson said. “Through much investigation, it was learned that there was no actual threat to the school. The incident occurred off school property, was thoroughly investigated and law enforcement determined that there was no credible threat.”
Chief Pederson said that the New Hampton Police Department was assisted by the New Hampton Community Schools, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
