BROOKINGS, S.D. – NIACC’s Jacob Henjum placed 23rd in the triple jump on Saturday at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic.
Henjum earned his 23rd place finish with a personal best leap of 42 feet, 8 inches. His previous personal best was 42-4 3/4 at the Grinnell Invitational on Feb. 2.
Also for the NIACC men on Saturday, Blake Keller was 54th in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:59.49. Abdiaziz Wako was 69th in the 800 in 2:00.74.
For the NIACC women on Saturday, Keisha Gonzague was 65th in the 800 in 2:33.00. Also, Amy Fullerton was 79th (2:40.56) and Maddison Shupe was 84th (2:44.85),
In the mile, NIACC’s Julia Dunlavey was 91st in 5:52.29.
On Friday at the Indoor Classic, Keller placed 26th in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:52.55 and qualified for the NJCAA national meet.
Also in the 3,000, the Trojans’ Brian Jacques was 42nd (9:01.66) and Grant Dieken was 62nd (9:37.86).
NIACC’s Daniel Hennigar placed 35th in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:27.42. Also in the 600 for the Trojans, Hunter Filloon was 42nd in 1:29.57.
Wako was 40th in the 1,000 (2:40.75). Also in the 1,000, Logan Dalbeck was 48th (2:43.75) and Canyon Kuhlmann was 51st (2:50.37).
In the 200, the Trojans’ top finisher was Kyle Younker, who was 66th in 23.01.
For the NIACC women, Jaylynn Scrivner was 79th out of 141 athlete in the 200 in a time of 27.28. Dashawn Wyatt was 81st in 27.35.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Caitlin Serle was 33rd in the shot put with a toss of 26 feet, 3/4 inches, Sophia Fischer was 42nd in the weight throw (32-8 1-2) and Anne Marie Morris was 48th in the long jump (13-0).
In the 600, Ally Trager was 54th (1:51.10), Fullerton was 58th (1:55.18) and Shupe was 59th (1:55.31).
