Mason City man sent to jail for drunk driving after wrecking Corvette
MASON CITY – A Mason City man wiped out his Corvette north of town, causing significant damage to the vehicle, and he has been sent to jail for drunk driving.
The accident took place at 300th Street (B20) and Highway 65 on June 14, 2016. At about 7:43 PM, Cerro Gordo County Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident just South of the intersection of County Road B20 and Highway 65, southbound.
At the scene, deputies found a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by Michael James Woolery, age 65 of Mason City, blocking the roadway. The Corvette appears to have left the roadway into the West ditch, and then back onto the roadway. The Corvette sustained significant damage in the accident. Highway 65 southbound was closed to traffic for approximately 30 minutes. Woolery was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Mason City Fire Medics for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police believed at the time of the accident that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Woolery was given a 365 day jail sentence with all but 4 days suspended, plus one year of probation and $1,797.50 in fines and court fees.

I’m not sticking up for him, if, he was OWI. But if you (believe) something, does that make it true. What, no drug test to make it certain.
