MASON CITY – Visit Mason City, an organization that promotes tourism, announced organizations that will receive grants this year. Visit Mason City said it “has several progressive programs aimed at attracting, retaining and expanding direct visitor spending in the community”.
The Visit Mason City Tourism Marketing Grant Program with the following Round II award winners:
· Friends of the 457 – Brochures & Posters – $341.00
· River City Society for Historic Preservation (Stockman House) – Advertisements – $309.00
· Mason City Civil War Council – Brochures, fliers and posters – $700.00
· Iowa Chapter American Planning Association – Reception – $562.00
· Good Works Foundation – Slippery Saints Mud Run – Advertisements, brochures – $283.0
· Mohawk Archery – Fliers, website, advertisements – $272.00
· North Iowa Detachment of the Marine Corps League – Brochure, shuttle, reception – $278.00
· Up In Smoke BBQ Bash – Advertisements – $200.00
· River City Sculptures on Parade – Brochure – $869.00
· Regional Dressage Horse Shows – Reception – $750.00
· Wright on the Park – Advertisements – $1,223.00
Visit Mason City said that these 11 awards are estimated to attract over 8,000 visitors to the community. “These grants will also leverage over $12,000 of private funding for tourism marketing resulting in economic impact through visitor spending,” the organization said.
