IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa recently expelled a student for sexual misconduct, the university reported Friday in a news release.
UI officials confirmed that the expulsion resulted from a pattern of predatory behavior that involved an act of forcible fondling and a separate incident that also involved forcible fondling in addition to forcible sodomy.
The expulsion follows the implementation of UI President Sally Mason’s Six-Point Plan to Combat Sexual Assault. Mason City had said earlier this year that that ending sexual assault on the campus was “probably not a realistic goal, just given human nature.”
Even so, Mason released a six-point plan aimed at curbing as much as possible the rash of sexual assaults on the University of Iowa campus.
