The president endorsed same sex marriage yesterday and it was said to be revolutionary. Lets stop there for a moment. When two people love each other why should it be labeled as such? Why isn’t it “natural” , in the realm of the natural order of life? Here as in all aspects of life it falls under the majority rules way of life. We are right and you are wrong.
What this all comes down to is other people want to decide what goes on in your bedroom; do you like that? I am speaking here of what takes place between two adults, lets make that clear. Why is it important you should be able to decide and dictate what takes place in the most intimate aspect of what nature has created?
Homosexuality as been a part of life since the inception of human life as we know it; why has it been ingrained into your mind that it is evil or “against God?” I have lived a long time and never once have I been accosted by someone who bats from the other side. I have been invited to the party a few times as I traveled across this world, I declined politely but considered it more of a compliment rather than an offense. I am an adult and have been for many years; I decide for myself, within the boundaries of what society has written into law, what I want and what I don’t want.
There is no threat here, you are all safe from violence, you will not be assaulted by the other team, it just not their nature. Now there are groups coming out condemning the president…or applauding him for what has been a part of human nature for as long as humans have walked on two legs…or longer.
If you can carry a gun and offer to put your life on the line for this country, when you come home the same government should allow you the same freedom you fought to preserve. Go about your business and do not invite the government into your bedroom or mine. Them now, you next, there is no end to radicalism. If people actually knew what took place in my bedroom the divorce courts would be clogged for decades, it would change the complexion of this entire area.

I don’t give a damn about gay marriage one way or the other. What gets me riled is all the problems we have in this country, national debt, unemployment, rising energy prices, terrorism, etc. and our pres is making statements about gay marriage.

WHAT ABOUT THE REAL ISSUES AMERICA FACES….OBIMBO? Unemployment, terrorism, gas prices, failing education system, and most importantly out-of-control government spending?
Amen to that. The Government should not be in the relationship controlling business anyway.
Civil Unions nor marriage should be addressed by government. Tax the individual only.
After all isn’t that what this is really all about. MONEY!
On one side let us get married so we can collect government benefits and tax advantages. The other side is no we want to hold marriage to mean between a man and woman.
If every one was taxed and judged as an individual all of this would be moot!

Well said Peter. I totally agree with this article. It is what I have been trying to say but didn’t have the words. I feel so strongly that government and religion has no business telling me or anyone else what to do in their private life.
