Clear Lake man uninjured after his Mercedes leaves interstate, crashes into tree

iowa-state-patrol-logo-doorWORTH COUNTY – A Clear Lake man was uninjured after his Mercedes left the roadway on Interstate 35 and struck a tree.

Edward Walter Schick, age 57, was northbound on Interstate 35 at about the 203 mile marker when, according to a report, when he lost control of his 2002 Mercedes 500 automobile on the wet roadway. Schick over-corrected and caused the vehicle to leave he roadway to the right, and entered the east ditch. The vehicle then struck a tree on the right front end, and bounced off, traveling north and west. It came to rest in the east ditch, upright, facing north west.

The report states that Schick was not injured and his Mercedes incurred $5,000 in damage.
