Nashua woman wanted on meth charges out of Wisconsin caught by police

FAYETTE, IOWA – A Nashua woman wanted on meth charges out of Wisconsin was nabbed by police recently and awaits a trip to that state.

On July 28th, 2016 Fayette county deputies were called to Highway 93 just West of the City of Fayette in reference to a report of a possible disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies met with Janel Kay Helfter, age 41 of Nashua. Upon making contact, deputies discovered Helfter had a valid felony warrant for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of T.H.C. out of Barron County, Wisconsin.

Helfter was placed under arrest and transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office where she awaits extradition.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fayette Police Department.

Helfter has been convicted and/or accused of crimes such as child endangerment in Mitchell county (guilty), and other dug charges in various counties of Iowa.
