MASON CITY – Police and other emergency responders were called early this morning to investigate a man laying motionless in a parking lot.
The incident took place around 2:45 AM, when a caller reported a man just laying in the parking lot. Callers said that he was breathing but not moving. Mason City police and fire medics raced to the 1300 block of 4th Street SW (Check & Go parking lot) and found a bicyclist that had fallen and was laying in the lot.
When units arrived, the man sat up, talked and joked around with police officers and EMT personnel. Officers put his bike in the trunk of a police car and it appeared that they gave him a ride home.
