Opinion: Beware of puppets in our city government

On Sunday, John Skipper introduced metaphors into to the mix. These were linked to the coming change on the council and perhaps Trout’s position. Here is a metaphor….change is good! Here is another one… a new broom sweeps clean.

As bad as I personally judged Hickey and Solberg and later Schoneman; their tenure at that table should have served this community as an example of puppetry and the dangers it carries when important issues are at stake, like Prestage. This could have been catastrophic for our community, this was when Bookmeyer the grand ventriloquist brought out the dummies who are part and parcel to every ventriloquist who works the stage.

This sickness fueled by hate and driven by total ignorance can easily infect those with misplaced values……and don’t think it stopped at the council table….because it didn’t.

This is what I envision from Weaver; due deligence would be a requirement on any company wanting to locate here. I reference the burning plant, and Prestiage. We all want more population but not at the expense of those who have worked hard to raise families and have a lifetime of honest labor invested in their homes.

What frightens you about Max is his physical appearance. It belies his actual intellect. If he shaved, got a haircut and bought $50.00 worth of new clothes your opinion of him would change….he doesn’t give crap…and therein lies the rub; Are you voting for the man or are you voting for the wardrobe?

You mention growing the population. I agree. Reversing decades of population decline should be a priority. I have trouble envisioning how Mr Weaver would be successful in accomplishing this. Due diligence is great, but you have to bring a development prospect to the table first. Can Mr Weaver do that?

Please enlighten all of us in how Weaver would be ‘good’ for this city. Do you think he’ll bring businesses and jobs to the community? Would taxes be reduced? Would incomes be increased? What specifically is it you think Weaver would do for the city??

We’re obviously not going to be able to have a intelligent discourse on this subject. I’ve said it many times before…Its a shame your vote counts the exact same as mine.

Peter is always reactive to John Skipper. Gives the impression that John is the Puppet Master pulling Peters strings and making him dance.

“Change is good” is not a metaphor. It’s a slogan.

You obviously must be one of the principles that I referred to. It figures you’re either ashamed or afraid to write your name .
