CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City took a man to jail for felony drunk driving.
The incident took place during a traffic stop on May 6 at around 9:45 PM PM near 13th Avenue and D Street. Officers stopped a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Brandon Vermillion of Ionia. Vermillion was found to be intoxicated during the traffic stop and he also failed to prove he had insurance.
Vermillion was taken to the county jail where he was held briefly and released without bond or bail. He was due in court May 13.
Vermillion was convicted of second-offense operating while intoxicated back in 2010 and first-offense in 2007. Both those cases were also in Floyd county.
