MASON CITY – Mason City police are seeking clues as they investigate a drive-by shooting late Sunday night in town.
Police say the incident took place Sunday night around 9:22 PM. Officers responded to the 500 block of South Washington Avenue. A citizen had called and reported that a dark colored, smaller, 4 door car, drove by and fired several shots into a parked vehicle. There were no injuries.
Mason City Police did recover several casings at the scene and found a vehicle that was damaged.
“A red Jeep Cherokee I believe was shot up with holes visible and windows shot out,” a person who was at the scene told NIT.
The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Mason City Police at 641-421-3636, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-383-0088.

it was exactly 9:20 pm.I heard them while pumping gas at Casey’s on south federal. I even said to the clerk remember this tome 9:20pm . I heard gun shots to the north.

Our community is changing so fast. By the time my husband and I retire, it will be like Detroit and Chicago. I have seen a few Michigan and Illinois vehicles driving around town lately, with some savory looking characters in the cars. The middle of town will be surrounded on each side by ghetto housing and will be squeezed out. The SVU that got shot up on S. Washington, I saw it yesterday at a store…. and looks like Tu Pac or Whiz Kalifa got out of the car… Tu Pac must have risen from the dead. This scares me a whole lot more than the new packing plant….

Could this be considered a threat against a person. Even tho everybody likes me, it’s time to load up and keep the cannon by the front door. I have been wondering when this was going to start in this town.
@Allen-Mine are always loaded and in various places around the house. It is a sad state of affairs that it is necessary in our city but times have changed with Obama in the White House it has become a criminal nation.
