MASON CITY – Mayor Eric Bookmeyer of Mason City recognized Lionel Foster at Tuesday’s City Council meeting for his achievement of being inducted into the Iowa African American Hall of Fame.
There was an induction ceremony Aug. 5 at The Meadows Event and Conference Center at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa, where Foster and others were recognized.
Mayor Eric Bookmeyer presented Foster with a certificate.
The Iowa African-American Hall of Fame is a division of Iowa State University’s Black Cultural Center.
