NIACC track teams set to compete at nationals

niacc_trojans_logoWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The NIACC men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete at the NJCAA national indoor meet Friday and Saturday.

The NIACC women qualified in four events and the NIACC men qualified in six events.

On Friday, the NIACC men distance medley relay team will compete at 3:20 p,m. Also for the NIACC men, Jacob Day will run in the 5,000-meter finals at 4:45 p.m., Imad Amenzou will run in the 800 prelims at 7:50 p.m., Zach Freund will run the 3,000 final at 9:10 p.m. and Jose Aguilera will run in the 1,000 prelims at 9:40 p.m.

The 800 final is set for 3:05 p.m. on Saturday and the 1,000 final is 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

For the NIACC women on Friday, Sola Stephenson will 600 prelims at 5:50 p.m. and Sarah Snavely will compete in the shot put at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday,Steinunn Atladottir will compete in the triple jump at 11 a.m. and the Lady Trojans will run in the 4×800 at 12:30 p.m.

For the NIACC men on Saturday, Aguilera will run in the mile final at 2:20 p.m.

Women
4×800 – 10:58.23 (Maribel Zamago, Jordan Lane, Michaela Foster, Kendra Schmidt).
Triple jump – Steinunn Atladottir 10.54 meters.
Shot put – Sarah Snavely 11.84 meters.
600 – Sola Stephenson 1:41.09.
Men
800 – Imad Amenzou 1:54.83.
Mile – Jose Aguilera 4:25.64.
1,000 – Aguilera 2:35.20.
3,000 – Zach Freund 9:00.16.
5,000 – Jacob Day 15:37.15.
Distance medley relay – 10:40.12 (Aguilera, Mark Maddox, John Enright, Freund).
