Wanted Mason City druggie turns himself in

MASON CITY – A Mason City man charged over the years with numerous offenses turned himself in on an arrest warrant Monday afternoon after he skipped court on yet another drug charge.

Anthony Luke Gilbert, age 43, failed to appear in court on November 23 for a hearing on a drug possession charge. A warrant for his arrest was issued by a judge. Gilbert showed up at the Cerro Gordo county law enforcement center Monday at 4:44 PM to turn himself in. Gilbert had pled not guilty to a charge of third or subsequent offense illegal drug possession and posted bond back on June 30, a week after his arrest by Mason City police. He also skipped his arrangement hearing, records show.

Gilbert’s criminal charges over the years include drunk driving, criminal mischief, numerous drug arrests for meth precursors, trespassing, assault, theft, disorderly conduct. He’s served time in prison for the drug offenses.
