Todd Blodgett Opinion: BIDEN’s Naivete, Ineptitude, Provoked & Emboldened PUTIN

While President Biden correctly condemns his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the outrageous invasion of Ukraine, he should realize he impelled Putin’s aggression. Putin, like much of the world, doesn’t think much of America’s new Sheriff; replacing Donald Trump with Joe Biden is like switching out ‘Dirty Harry’ Callahan for Barney Fife. Trump’s advocacy of realistic, pro-USA policies, his no-nonsense practicality and take-charge personality largely placated Vladimir. While Putin was furious over Trump deep-sixing the asymmetrical US-Russia missile accord, and unleashing lethal force to kill large numbers of Russian mercenaries who attacked a US military installation in Syria, he respected Trump’s toughness, know-how, determination, and willingness to ensure that America was respected and always got the best possible deals. When Trump authorized the sale of offensive weapons to Ukraine, Putin was livid. He also ordered the US military to snuff out some anti-US troublemakers, including the belligerent Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, the sleazy, pro-ISIS Abul al-Baghdadi, and several others whom Trump decided had overstayed their welcome on planet earth. Understandably, Putin castigated such targeted take-outs. But despite his exasperation, Putin called Trump a “talented” and “smart” leader, who consistently sought what he believed was in America’s best interests.

Does any intelligent, informed person consider Joe Biden to be up to his job? If you think so, then keep reading. When President Trump told Mexico’s President, Andres Manual Lopez Obrador, to station Mexican troops on his side of our shared border, AMLO balked – despite knowing that placing federales there would prevent illegal aliens from invading US soil. Undeterred, Trump threatened to impose an 80 percent surcharge on EVERY US-generated wire transfer into Mexico – and AMLO then complied. Those Mexican troops made the job of the US Border Patrol much easier, and for the first time in decades, by 2020, the US-Mexico border was largely under control. When Biden, on Day One of his reign of error, unilaterally negated that deal, it was catastrophic for US national security, and Putin saw that America’s so-called leader is fecklessly weak. Weeks later, when Putin demanded the US rule out accepting Ukraine into NATO, Biden inexplicably refused. Unquestionably, Donald Trump – who wasn’t overly fond of NATO – would have assured Putin that NATO would not include Ukraine.

Indeed, a February 26 poll by the Harvard Center for American Political Studies revealed that 63 percent of those polled believe that had Trump remained President, Putin would’ve not invaded Ukraine. 59 percent of the respondents – which featured equal numbers of registered Republicans, Democrats and Independents – said that Putin “sensed weakness on the part of President Biden.”

For 15+ years, Putin has said, justifiably, that he views even the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO as an overt, existential threat to Moscow’s security. Biden and US Secretary of State Tony Blinken KNOW that the ruthlessly realistic Putin, a Soviet nostalgist, wants to restore Russia to the respected power it once was. But then the Biden administration’s abysmal, botched pull-out from Afghanistan only worsened matters, and reinforced Putin’s belief that an undermined USA meant that at the appropriate time, he could strike. With Trump sidelined, the appeasement for which the Obama-Biden administration was infamous has been fully reinstated. America is governed by a real-life version of ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ – the subject of the movie of that title, which features a greedy, mentally defective, China-

controlled US Senator, whom the Chi-Coms try to install in the oval office. Mr. Biden’s sanctions have proven worthless and he’s made threats he hasn’t backed up, while recklessly squandering American prestige, influence and credibility. It almost appears that this buffoon actually wants to undermine the nation he’s paid to lead. If not, then Biden is as inept and naïve as Trump warned us he would be.
Since Biden took office, Mr. Putin has questioned America’s willingness to take decisive and effective action. Sadly, Putin’s suspicions have proven correct, to the detriment of the United States. Not good.
Unlike other world leaders, Putin doesn’t authorize the manufacture or exportation of cocaine or crystal meth. Nor does he seek to extinguish Christianity and he hasn’t shipped middle-class jobs to Russia, or caused a worldwide pandemic that brought the US Economy to a near-standstill. Vladimir Putin doesn’t indoctrinate US students with racial discrimination and he doesn’t eat dogs. But just like a calculating, hungry shark in shallow waters, he targeted his quarry. Now, his aggression guarantees that Ukraine won’t join NATO.
