MASON CITY – Mason City Community School District is pleased to announce the 2015 recipients of its Distinguished Alumni Award. The Distinguished Alumni Award was established to recognize graduates of Mason City High School for outstanding contributions to society following graduation, and to promote role models for current students.
Candidates for this award must meet the following criteria:
- Must have graduated from Mason City High School at least 10 years prior to the induction;
- Must have contributed to society in an exemplary manner; or
- Must have achieved outstanding success in any of the following areas: the Arts, Business, Community
Service, Humanitarian Efforts, or a Profession.
The 2015 recipients are:
Aristotle (Tel) Pappajohn, Class of 1947
Shirley Moore Stoyles, Class of 1958
Bob Morrison, Class of 1969
Rick Schupbach, Class of 1979
Scott Hudson, Class of 1980
The Distinguished Alumni Award recipients will be recognized at a reception on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Music Man Square. Social time will be at 6:30 p.m. with a dessert reception and introductions at 7:00 p.m. The recipients will also be introduced at a student assembly at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015.
Community members who wish to attend the Sunday reception and celebrate the accomplishments of the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients should call 641-421-4431 (press 2), by 3:00 p.m. on November 20, to make reservations. Reception cost is $7.00 per person.
