MASON CITY – A Mason City man was jailed for drunk driving recently.
After a driving complaint was forwarded to police, an officer was dispatched to the area of South Monroe Avenue. The officer spotted the offending vehicle near Shopko at the 600 block of South Monroe. After an investigation, the driver, David Michael Garrett – who resides just two blocks from that location – was arrested on a charge of first offense operating while intoxicated.
Garrett was jailed and soon released on his own recognizance. He awaits a preliminary hearing on October 9.
