Iowa City school board member arrested for domestic assault

IOWA CITY – Police were called to a Coralville residence for a domestic assault and arrested an elected official after an investigation.

According to a police report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, on September 6 after 1:20 AM, Toyet Nguyen Dorau, age 34, struck a male subject with a clothes hanger and physically attacked him as he tried to subdue her during an altercation.  She also reportedly kicked him in the stomach.  The male suffered scratches and redness on his abdomen.

Dorau was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury.

Dorau reportedly had lost her job in recent days at University of Iowa Hospitals.
