MASON CITY – A man who routinely finds himself behind bars for alcohol-related offenses found himself on the wrong side of the law yet again, this time Monday night in the Cultural Crescent.
Police told NIT that citizens were awakened by 33-year-old Dustin Snowbird pounding on a door at a residence in the 100 block of South Penn at 1:15 AM on May 26th, 2014. A Mason City police officer and a Cerro Gordo deputy responded to find Snowbird, apparently intoxicated, lying on the porch. Officers spoke to Snowbird who refused to cooperate and grew disorderly again and refused to cooperate with the officers’ requests. Officers placed Snowbird under arrest. In the process, Snowbird allegedly spat at the officer(s).
Snowbird also “continually made threats that he would basically get revenge for being arrested,” police said.
Snowbird was charged with public intoxication, 3rd or subsequent offense; second degree harassment; assault on a peace officer; and interference with official acts.
Snowbird was taken to jail, where he remains at this time.
