MASON CITY – Today, Alex Kuhn thanked his supporters as well as the three out-going city council members, Max Weaver, Jeff Marsters and Don Nelson. Kuhn won the at-large city council race in Mason City Tuesday night.
Kuhn sent the following email on Wednesday:
I am deeply humbled by the broad-based support of my candidacy that was expressed yesterday at the polls. I am honored to be elected as your At-Large City Councilman and look forward to serving come January.
I would like to thank the candidates in all the races for adding value to the policy discussions, dedicating the time and effort, and enduring the public scrutiny that comes along with being a candidate for public office. You all ran great campaigns and have a lot to be proud of.
To the Councilman Weaver, Nelson, and Marsters who will end 4 year terms at the end of this year; thank you for your years of service and dedication to our great community. To the new council to be sworn in come January 2012; I look forward to working with you towards common goals to make Mason City one of the best places in Iowa to live, work, and raise a family.
Again, I thank you for making our campaign a success. We ran on issues important to families, business, and the taxpayers of our community and people responded. I look forward to working with you all.
