MC Cops catch man wanted since 2011

MASON CITY – A wanted man was riding a bike through Mason City this weekend, and was stopped by Mason City police and taken to jail.

Lord Nana Sarpong, age 25, was riding a bike at Illinois Avenue and 3rd Street SE at 4:17 AM on August 16 when a police officer stopped him for a faulty light on his bike, an equipment violation.  The officer soon discovered that Sarpong had been wanted since 2011 on a trespassing charge.  Sarpong did not cooperate with the officer as he was arrested, leading to a charge of interference with official acts.  Sarpong is also wanted in Otter Tail county, Minnesota on a charge of felony first degree burglary.

Records show that Sarpong had been living at the America’s Best Value Inn, located at 24 5th Street SW as he ducked law enforcement.  He had also been found guilty of trespassing by Mason City police in 2010, just before his second charge was brought.  He still owes the entire $270 the judge assessed him in that case.  Sarpong pled not guilty to the later trespassing charge and awaits a September 16 trial.  He will be held until Minnesota authorities can come down and pick him up for extradition.

Just wondering how this sponge has been paying his rent at ABVI…More free room and board coming in Minnesota.

@Allen-probably shacked up with some Ho who was paying the bill.

I thought ABVB was trying to clean up it’s act and said it was doing background checks on long term residential customers, so much for that. That place continues to be a problem for this town.

The one on South Federal is no better, they both have bad track records.
