My fellow Christian friends, we preach of “Right to life” yet we endorse the National Rifle association, we lead our fellow Americans into war under false pretenses, we object to the right for everyone to have access to affordable healthcare, and we become disgusted when our neighbor receives welfare assistance.
These issues are also Pro-life issues.
Being Pro-life is so much more than just about abortion. It’s also about many issues such as, helping thy neighbor who is struggling to pay rent or feed their child, yet the Republican Party seems to neglect these issues. I am Pro-life, but I believe in a woman’s right to choose because regardless of how the Republican Party defines rape, rape is rape and those that have endured such a horrible disgusting act deserve the right to choose.
I believe in higher education and those wishing to attend college should have access to Pell Grants that will help them to achieve their goals, I believe in preserving Medicare for the elderly, they deserve more than a voucher that leaves them to defend for themselves, I believe that everyone was created equal and everyone should be entitled to the same basic human rights regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation, I believe that women deserve equal pay for equal work and I believe that Jesus believed in helping the poor.
My fellow friends this year we have a clear choice. We can continue the road of the elephant or the road in which Jesus took and ride in on a Donkey. Stand with me and vote for President Obama and the rest of the Democratic Party this year and remember regardless what the Republicans might say, Jesus never rode an elephant.

I am sick of stupid people.
I am sick of the Stupid Stuff people say
I am a Christian and proud to say so. I believe in God the Father, Jesus, The Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary. I believe, I try to practice the teachings of Christ and I pray.
But when manipulation of Christianity and Christians like I see in this op-ed is the reason I have left organized religion. And the thing of it is, its not the religion I so much have a problem with. It’s the hypocrisy and paradoxical thinking of some of its followers and the things they spew that no matter how I try I just cannot understand.
God, nor Jesus, never told us to suspend our rational/critical thinking and allow ourselves to become victims. We were told we have free will, choices and that we should be kind not that we should be stupid doormats.
You need religious people in government so they have a moral guide to do what is right and not what is policticaly correct as defined by the MSM. We have to quit killing unborn babies.
watch the debate between Ryan and Biden Thursday night and you will see the idea that makes the most sense to keep medicare solvent.
Troy, you stated. “I believe in preserving Medicare for the elderly, they deserve more than a voucher that leaves them to defend for themselves,”
There is no plan to eliminate medicare the way it is today. The Ryan plan that is on the table does not effect anyone on Medicare today, nor anyone in the future. The voucher plan is a choice each individual can chose if they like in the future and they would be smart if they did.
Everyone knows Jesus F*ing hates Obama.
Pro-life is about so much more than just abortion.
You can’t say that the Republican party is so Christian when they continues live selfish lives.
Mark 10:21. Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Jesus preached over and over to give to the less fortunate. Yet, the Republican party, in general (not every single one) continues to only care about their personal wealth; same as the man in Mark Chapter 10
The Democrat party, some not all, treats the citizens of this country like animals in a zoo. It proposes to house us where it sees fit, feed us what it wants us to eat, decide for us what we should watch and what we should hear. It wants to take over our health care but in the manner IT decides is best. It wants to practice eugenics (hello planned parenthood/Margaret Sanger) and kill the unborn that it deems “not good enough, imperfect, unwanted”. It wants to decide when its time to ration and discontinue medical aid because it’s not cost effective to continue treatment on someone who probably isn’t going to live that much longer anyway. Sorry if its your grandma. Don’t believe me? What do you think government housing projects are other than habitats aka zoos?
Some Dems hate Christianity and prefer to worship on the altar of Charles Darwin because in doing so there is a built in excuse for all those other things and it can go about stripping the citizens of all their free will in the name of “for their own good”.
Religion is too hard, its has too many rules, we don’t want to keep score so we’ll just disavow religion and fall on our knees before the all mighty gods of science and then tell believers how stupid they are to believe in some invisible man in the sky. Never mind science is not so unlike the continuous search for that invisible man and the answers he may hold. Isn’t that why we all donate money to causes that tell us; we don’t know what the cure is but we know its out there and we are searching to find it?
SOME Democrats practice the art of “keeping all their options open.” They want to declare LIFE upon discovery of a single cell in outer-space or on Mars but they refuse to admit the life of a child in the womb. This isn’t because they don’t know its a life, its because to admit such is to take away their options and make them responsible for their choices.
Its not enough for some Dems to have the abortion pill (which they grossly misrepresent as being as easy as popping an aspirin), its not enough for them to have legal abortion in the first trimester, no they want partial birth abortion where they jam a scissors into a living child’s skull, open the scissors and then insert a vacuum tube to suck out its brains. They want the right to leave children that survive the attempted murder to be abandoned in some closet until they die. Obama voted for both of these practices.
Some Democrats want to claim they are the party of racial understanding but refuse to admit they were the party of the KKK. Some dems renounce people that oppose same sex marriage and dismiss them as religious bigots even though the reason they oppose it has more to do with process of law and governments intrusion in any aspect of marriage.
How terrible it would be if a woman didn’t sleep with a man because she didn’t want to get pregnant or thought to bring protection when she goes out drinking? So many young women are smart enough to get themselves into college and run their mouths on social media but not smart enough to put a condom in their purse or smart enough to say no if they don’t have one. But they shouldn’t have to be punished with a baby right? By this logic no one should be held to any written contract because they should have the right to change their minds and shouldn’t be burdened tomorrow with what seemed like a good idea last night. How horrible the thought that if someone else wants to do something that is bad for them; smoking, eating poorly, not exercising that they should be allowed to make that choice and then accept the consequences? We all like to accept the credits and accolades of our choices and beware anyone that tries to take that from us but the consequences of our choices, well those are different right? Everyone else should help shoulder the burden. Its not like studies on whats good for us change all the time.
Sell your souls if you like, but you are not allowed to sell mine. This is not a Groupon deal of the day; free cell phones for the souls of all Americans.
Some democrats are good, some are bad. Some republicans are good, some are bad. Libertarians, green party, and so on and so on. We have allowed ourselves to be shackled by labels and lines in the sand and the desire to be the last man standing with that big foam hand proclaiming “we’re #1”.
We have forsaken our common sense and dignity. We are going through much of what the “greatest generation” had to endure. We could be great as well if we would just get out of our own way.
Your thinking and writing are those of the American Taliban. The american taliban has infiltrated our congress using the name Tea Party. They are trying to take the White House. We must do everything in our power to see that this does not happen.
Hmmmm. Helping our neighbors is our personal responsibility, not the government’s. That should be done through charity, not with tax money. That is why charities are non-profit foundations and why gifts to them are tax-deductible. Rich people give a lot of money to charities and a lot of them set up charitable foundations. We in the middle class donate as much money as we can. Be careful to whom you donate. Some charities spend all your money on fundraising.
We as taxpayers should have no responsibility to automatically support everyone. I remember a few years ago, there was a family in a town with a member with a terminal illness. The town did not have a benefit for them as requested because the family did not give up a single luxury item it owned – boat, snowmobiles, motorhome, motorcycles, and on and on. The townsfolk decided they were not going to sacrifice for a family that was not willing to sacrifice one single thing. It’s time that some abusers on welfare, disability, whatever, learn this same lesson. There are some people who simply cannot work due to complete physical or mental disability. That is a different matter. But I do believe their families should help as much as possible. We should not walk away from our close relatives.
And just how do you think the Republican Party defines rape? What do you mean by that comment? You’re way out of line there.
Mitt Romney had a moderate stance on abortion and gay marriage before he decided to run for president. He had to flip flop in order to run on the Republican Party’s ticket. It’s a real shame that this nation only has 2 parties that ever manage to win an election. We need more choices in our elections. Romney is far more of a centrist than most of the other candidates who ran. The problem is that whenever a 3rd party candidate runs, he is an election spoiler as Ross Perot was for President George HW Bush in 1992. Mitt Romney and Bill Clinton are closer on many issues than Bill Clinton would want anyone to think at this moment in time. Bill Clinton cut the capital gains tax in the ’90’s and the economy grew and the budget balanced. But don’t say that too loudly because he doesn’t want you to remember that now that Romney is pushing to keep the capital gains rate the same instead of raising it the way Obama wants to, which would kill investment, income tax flow to the government, and job creation.
You might want to keep that donkey around for a game of donkey softball…………….
I’ll be voting straight ticket Republican so I won’t be associated with tardz like you!
At least look at who you are voting for. In my opinion the straight ticket policy undermines democracy. You could be voting for Hitler down the ballot somewhere and not even know it.
Note: I am not saying Hitler was a republican.
So you are voting for the socialists that gave us the prescription drug entitlement program. When will you all learn that democrats and republicans are all socialists. Vote Indepndent or Libertarian that is the only way things will change.
Until the Democrats drop their insistence on turning American into a Socialist Country I will be voting a straight Republican ticket.
Democrats need to return to the days of John Kennedy and what they represented back then. What the Democrats represent today is clearly not working.
This is as stupid as it gets. Yes folks, the Republicans are the devil talking…give me a break. Typical religious nut-job being hypocritcal about his party when they want to remove prayer from schools and “IN GOD WE TRUST” from our currency. Troy, you’re a loon dude. And I think I saw your Donkey show…your mom was there.
You cannot have religion involved in government. There are too many faiths to be able to conform to each one. It is simple, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Bible or no bible that is a good rule. The problem is every person is different, and when you get those of Romney’s sort you need a truth serum to sort it all out. You don’t need to attend church to help your neighbor, either you’re a good person or you’re not.
Faith in a religion is a guide for how to treat people in this life. However, it must be swept aside when it comes to secular governing.
Why? Because there are to many different religions and inside them, interpretations to treat everyone the same. What would most of you say if you were governed by laws ordained by the Amish? Or Muslims? Or Yoruba?
While our laws follow so many tenants of religious teachings, they appear not to be based on one specific sect or faith.
I suggest they were framed for the good of all people, religious or not.
Thus in politics, it causes such division that it ought to be omitted. Let actions speak for the person or candidate, and that basis on their own personal beliefs.
Decide not on what the Church leaders dictate, but upon your own belief of what Divine Providence wants on this earth. Of how we should treat each other. Of how He wants us to govern our own behavior. That is what really matters, not the actions of others. They face their own judgement based upon their actions.
Facta non verba!
Jesus loves the party that wishes to kill babies in the whom?
“WOMB” is the correct spelling. The Liberal Movement promotes abortion, thus DEMOCRATS support abortion. Plain & simple.
Muslim “Barry Sotero” has removed GOD from the Democrat platform – this ought to scare the HELL out of Christians. Barry is probably thrilled with the advancing Muslim movement in France, and other European Nations.
Makes me shiver with fear as I am a Christian and am greatly concerned about the Muslim Movement worldwide to eliminate Christianity !
Just another Republican that can’t sepll**. haha!
SEPLL ** haha.. reads like you are a “dummmmmm Democrap” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA **
“Whom” was meant to reference women. You are thinking to hard.
It is women that are being abused by abortion. Leaves a nasty emotional scar women have to live with the rest of their lives.
Not every woman feels guilty about having abortions. I know married women who were on birth control that failed repeatedly so they had abortions. They do not feel guilty about them. People try to make women feel guilty about having had abortions, but they don’t always succeed.
Matthew 19:21 – “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”
Jesus was pretty clear on this point throughout the various Gospels. We’re supposed to feed the hungry, clothe and support the poor, and heal the sick. Probably there aren’t many of us who can or will live up to that standard… but that doesn’t mean we get to make a virtue out of doing the exact opposite of Jesus’ teachings.
Kathy, Jesus said “we” not our government are to help the poor.
The bible also says that he who does not work does not eat.
Troy is right on another point the NRA has taken over there’s too many guns and too many hick hillbillies toting them around let’s put a stop to it and repeal the 2nd amendment.
Jesus never rode nothing but a camel.
I think you’ve forgotten about the donkey.
Sahr-you are just another welfare baby who wants something for nothing. Where in the bible does it say that you have the right to free education. In my world you have to get what you earn. You and your attitude are what is wrong with this country. Get off your damn soap box and go back to bible school and learn what the bible really says and then if you believe the book of fiction keep it to yourself.
LVS: Since you think you know the Bible so well, try this one…
“…it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
And do you really think Jesus was just “joshing” when he preached about how important it is to help the less fortunate?
Book of fiction or not, if you’re going to talk about what the Bible says you can’t just pick and choose.
@my opinion-I don’t know what Jesus said and neither do you. The bible has been changed and rewritten so many times by men and most of the time peole like you who are close minded that no one knows what Jesus said. So get off it. You can’t prove anything other than you don’t know what you are talking about. I have just as good a background in religion as you do. I just woke up and you didn’t. If you want to believe a book of fiction it is up to you but don’t critize me if I don’t.
Yes Jesus preached to help the less fortunate but he didn’t say it was Governments responsibility.
This was meant to be an individual choice and individuals desire to help his neighbor.
No where in the bible does it tell us to use a Government or any organized group to overpower and enslave people.
Just saying.
I love the liberals. Preach tolerance while you lie slander and bash anyone who doesn’t agree with your point of view.
Troy Sahr is just another Peter Children. Pathetic attention whore.
Yep, youre right. Obviously its only liberals. Well the other side does the same thing? Does that mean that they don’t believe in tolerance? Because they’re just as capable of bashing those who disagree with them.
Good for you Troy; many on this site will scorn you but what you stated was more in line with Jesus’s teaching than what others would have you believe. Keep it up.
Please don’t encourage this dummy!
Hey Sahr, the right to life and owning a gun are very compatible. I own a gun so I have the right to life and keep my life when some idiot tries to take if from me.
No one objects to anyone having affordable healthcare. What we object to is the Government rationing health care using a 15 member committee that reduces health care to the young and Seniors.
Also, it is very unchristian to take money away from anyone who worked by the sweat of their brow to give it away to others. The correct term for this is TAX SLAVERY. Jesus stood against all forms of Slavery.
You sound very conflicted. You can not be Pro-Life and Pro Choice at the same time.
My parents sat at the kitchen table and educated me. I then got a job and paid for my own college education. It is each persons responsibility to get an education, not the governments duty.
Your concept of using a government to take money from the citizens and giving it to others is just what they do in Socialist countries. You will fit in well in those countries, but be prepared for chaos and riots when the Government don’t have any more money to give you because they are broke. Check out Greece!
You have been sorely misled by a Democratic Party that has changed so much in the last 60 years they don’t represent anything that resembles freedom or the American Dream.
You should know that using your beliefs, Government always runs out of other peoples money!
Quit drinking the cool-aid.
Why would a Christian support a party that left God out of their platform? Oh ya they put it in their platform to the boo’s of the Democrat delegates.
Although I may agree with some of what you said, you sir need to read your bible a little more. Jesus was not a liberal, nor a conservative. He was the son of God. Please do not distort your own opinions and viewpoints to what the truth really is.
