CERRO GORDO COUNTY – An auto accident Tuesday morning left one person injured.
Cynthia Sue Philip, 40, of Osage, was backing out of a field drive way on County Road B-30 at 8:40 a.m. about three-tenths of a mile west of Highway S-70 and was struck by a vehicle driven by Anna Ruth Blake, 26, of Nora Springs.
Blake’s vehicle went through the wire cable on the south shoulder and continued down a steep embankment, finally coming to rest on its side.
Blake was injured and transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City by Nora Springs Ambulance.
Philipp’s Chrysler van sustained $10,000 in damage; she was cited for failure to yield.
Both women were using seat belts.
The guard rail sustained about $1,000 in damage.
