DNR Air Quality Bureau requires emissions inventories to be submitted by March 31, 2012

Facilities subject to Title V of the Clean Air Act must submit their emissions inventories for 2011 to the DNR Air Quality Bureau by March 31, 2012.

Similar to last year, the DNR is not requiring reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for 2011. However, some industrial sectors and facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more of CO2 equivalent GHG emissions per year are required to submit annual reports to EPA. Please visit this site to determine if your facility is subject to the federal GHG reporting program.

Title V emission inventory forms can be downloaded from the DNR Air Quality Bureau web site here. Two copies (three copies if your facility is located in Linn or Polk county) of Forms 1.0, 4.0, 5.0 and Part 3 are required. For assistance regarding emissions inventories (due March 31, 2012) or fee payment (due July 1, 2012), contact Weston Li at 515-281-8549 or weston.li@dnr.iowa.gov or Chris Kjellmark at 515-281-7826 or chris.kjellmark@dnr.iowa.gov.

You may use the web version of the State Permitting and Reporting System (SPARS) to submit your emissions inventory electronically. For assistance regarding SPARS Web, please contact Rachel Quill at 515-281-8983 or rachel.quill@dnr.iowa.gov.

Annual Compliance Certification and the Semi-Annual Monitoring Report are due March 31, 2012 if your initial Title V permit was issued prior to January 1, 2012. Contact Dennis Thielen at 515-281-4899 or dennis.thielen@dnr.iowa.gov if you have questions about these reports.

For additional information and instructions for submitting a Title V inventory please check the informational letter that will be sent to all Title V facilities at this site.
