Cops take kids back to school

MASON CITY – Kids who skip school should have their head on a swivel, because police are watching.

Mason City police reported Friday that two officers observed “three young juveniles” in the area of the 100 block of South Rhode Island Avenue. The kids ran from the officers, but they were soon caught. Police took them back to their school, but didn’t disclose which school.

Today, school kids participated in a Walk-a-thon to raise money. Many kids were outside participating in the walk. Nearby John Adams Middle School as well as the High School and Jefferson Elementary all had kids walking outside. The kids were supposed to stay on school grounds.
