Escaped Iowa inmate sought by police

DUBUQUE – Authorities are seeking a escaped violent Iowa inmate at this time, the Iowa Department of Corrections said late Monday.

Jon Jozef Myers, age 41, was placed on escape status after failing to return to the Dubuque Work Release Facility from employment. Myers was transferred to work release on October 4, 2013, for assault with a weapon. This sentence began on August 1, 2012.

Information as to Myers’ whereabouts should be reported to the Dubuque Police Department or Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department.
