CENTERVILLE, IOWA – An Iowa man was killed Friday in a single vehicle accident.
According to a report, Donald Lee Bates, 63, of Centerville, was riding his 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Friday, June 28th at about 3:36 PM when he left the roadway and drove onto the shoulder, losing control. The motorcycle then fliped onto its side and slid down the roadway coming to rest in the southbound lane. Bates was thrown from the motorcycle during the accident.
The victim was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead.
