IOWA FALLS – A gun-toting male suspect arrived at a Northern Iowa residence and turned his weapon on an unsuspecting couple and another victim before deleting himself, leaving three dead and another person hospitalized.
On November 9, 2025, at approximately 3:58am Hardin County Dispatch received a 911 call from 1108 Willow Lane in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The caller advised that there were multiple individuals at that location that were unresponsive.
When Iowa Falls police officers and Hardin County deputies arrived, three individuals were found inside the residence, deceased of gunshot wounds. One person was transported to the Hansen Family Hospital with a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The three deceased individuals were transported to the Office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner (ISOME) in Ankeny.
The subsequent investigation was able to determine that the shooting was a result of a domestic situation isolated to this residence. Two of the deceased individuals that died from gunshot wounds are now being identified:
- 42-year-old Jessica Marie Bennett of Iowa Falls

51-year-old Alan Jandro Karalius of Garner

45-year-old Shawn Michael Bean 45 of Iowa Falls
Police say through their investigation, it was determined that Shawn Michael Bean died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting Bennett, Jandro and a third person, who is not being identified at this time. They did not explain the exact relationship between the individuals involved.
The unidentified person is expected to survive their gunshot wounds.
The Iowa Falls Police Department is being assisted in the investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Hardin County E-Squad, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Patrol.
